About Me

I am a third year Ph.D. student in Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, working in the SEAK Lab with Dr. Daniel Selva. My research focuses on translating foundational quantum advances into deployable tools for real-world applications in the broad area of search, optimization, and planning.

Quantum computing offers a fundamentally new way to approach some of the hardest computational problems. Turning that promise into working algorithms is a different challenge. Today's NISQ devices are limited by qubit count, device topology, and gate errors, which makes realistic-scale algorithms hard to validate, let alone deploy. One option is to keep designing algorithms and wait a decade to verify them. The other is to be smart about it by treating these hardware limits as design constraints and build algorithms that can be tested now. My research follows this second path through two tightly coupled questions:

  • Translation: How do we systematically map large, complex real-world problems onto Hamiltonians or parameterized circuits so the formulation itself is built for quantum execution?
  • Fit: How do we design these formulations and algorithms so they stay within a device's qubit budget, connectivity, and noise tolerance, while still solving the original problem?

The result is hardware-aware algorithm design, built for real devices and tested on real problems.
